Section 1. A Rationale for the Approach to the Brief

The first week after receiving the task i went home and did plenty of research and planning. I looked at various websites to get an idea of how I would want mine to look like.

I thought that NASA's website was the best representation of what the brief requires. Including graphs and plenty of other information i.e educating the audience about climate change. Although NASA’s website is far more advanced than what I could achieve since there are teams of website designers involved behind that one site I think that it would be a good website to work from in terms of layout. I also made a rough sketch of my end product (the website). ((insert picture of design))
The aim of the project is to educate people about climate change using visualisations, therefore I decided I would make a graph like we did in our ALT 2 group assignment back in 5th year. I also decided I would aim my website at young adults(secondary school students), since they are the future leaders that will have an impact on the world for generations to come. I plan on having a website with different types of learning techniques in order to make my project stand out from others. For example many people learn in various ways such as visual, reading/writing or kinesthetic. For the visual i plan on making graphs(just as it is required in the coursework itself) from different datasets found on the internet. For the reading/writing one, very obviously it would all just be reading off the page.(Hopefully in the end if I have time I could include other small adjustments for example being able to highlight sentences that are of importance) For the kinesthetic page i plan on involving the micro bit, which would allow users to do a quiz using the two buttons as answers (true or false).
